She approaches each cake and dessert experience as part of a larger composition — considering the architecture, the florals, the menu, the season, and the feeling you want your guests to remember. She has competed on national stages, appeared on Food Network, and been commissioned coast to coast to create edible art for events that demand the extraordinary.

She has sculpted inside a glass refrigerator while crowds watched. She has carved faces from sugar that made rooms go silent. She has built pieces that weigh forty-five pounds and look like they belong in a gallery. The result is always a piece that feels personal without becoming predictable, elevated without becoming excessive.

R. Garrod Sugar Creations accepts a select number of private commissions each season for elevated weddings, milestone celebrations, intimate gatherings, galas, estate events, and signature occasions. Availability is intentionally limited so each commission receives the full attention it deserves.
Reaching out early is strongly encouraged, particularly for larger events and dates during the busiest celebration seasons. A limited number of commissions are accepted each season, and popular dates fill quickly. That said, if your event is approaching, it is always worth making contact — last-minute availability does occasionally open.
No. The consultation is designed to help shape the direction. It is helpful to share the date, location, guest count, event type, and any existing design details — but you do not need to arrive with a finished concept. Chef Garrod will develop a custom direction based on your event and your vision.
Yes, and it is encouraged. Collaboration with your creative team often results in a final piece that feels more deeply integrated into the larger event experience. Chef Garrod has worked alongside planners, florists, venue directors, and event designers at every scale.
Yes. Depending on the occasion, a commission may include a singular statement cake, a curated dessert experience, or a combination of elements designed for the event. Cupcakes, dessert table packages, and fully styled dessert experiences are available.
Each commission is shaped around the design, scale, guest count, and service needs of the occasion. Signature Celebration Cakes begin from $750. Wedding Commissions begin from $1,500. Chef Garrod is available nationwide and accepts destination event commissions. She has been flown coast to coast to create edible art for events that demand something extraordinary. Travel and destination fees are discussed during the consultation process.
